This year we’d also like to support the amazing work of Ahmed Abu Amsha who believes that art as a universal language transcends borders and connects hearts beyond differences.
Ahmed is a Palestinian musician from Gaza who has dedicated his life to spreading music as a message of peace, love, and dignity. After losing his home to the war and being displaced multiple times with his wife, five children & extended family, Ahmed turned to music as a source of resilience and healing.
His visits to refugee shelters to sing with the children grew into Gaza Birds Singing a musical ensemble composed of displaced children and fellow musicians who, in makeshift tents, learn to sing and play instruments.
Through music, Ahmed restores these children’s voices, offering them joy and hope in the midst of the devastation. As he says:
“We don’t carry weapons — we carry melodies. We don’t spread hate — we spread love. We believe the world can be a better place, if only it listens to the voice of art.”
